What is Diatomaceous Earth?

Diatomaceous Earth (in short DE) is a naturally occurring siliceous rock made from fossilized diatoms, a type of hard-shelled aquatic algae. It is soft and easily crumbles into a powder-like substance. Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth is chemical-free and completely non-toxic.

Usually, DE comes in the form of a white powder and its chemical composition is around 85% silica which works very efficiently to destroy a wide range of pests, insects, parasites and pathogens by binding to them & drying them out. And yet, because of its numerous health benefits it is getting more and more attention. For example, it improves the body’s use of calcium (together with magnesium), it improves bone mineralization, and protects joints, ligaments, tendons, and arteries. It also improves colon & digestive health, effectively fights aging, and there is even more!

1. Detoxing: Anti-bacterial, Anti-viral & Anti-fungal

Due to its absorbent properties Diatomaceous Earth works excellently on all kinds of pathogens, like bacteria, viruses, overgrowth of candida and fungi. Essentially, it binds to them and dries them out. A simple mechanical action without side effects. It is worthwhile to note that by doing so, it helps to clean the blood too.

But DE can do more: it helps reduce body odors, curb gas, it cleanses the digestive tract, boosts liver function, and absorbs harmful toxins in the blood. How exactly does Diatomaceous Earth do that?

It is due to its high content of silica of about 85%. Silica works similarly like anti-oxidants since it stays a stable particle, even when in a liquid medium. This allows it to fight free radical damage. Additionally, silica carries an electrical charge that can attach to free radicals and other harmful toxins, including heavy metals, which successfully neutralizes the charge and removes them from the body through sweat, urine, and feces.

2. Effectively Detoxing Heavy Metals

A study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in April 2000, found that silica also helps eliminate heavy metals from the body, like mercury, lead, cadmium, or aluminum. In studies they showed that silica has especially a high-aluminum-affinity and that it can effectively remove aluminum from the human gastrointestinal tract. No wonder, Diatomaceous Earth is so liked for detoxing when it does such a good job.

This makes it an all-natural and inexpensive way to prevent aluminum accumulation in the brain, in the digestive tract, or around nerve cells. The importance cannot be stressed enough since exposure to aluminum has been shown to be a risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease. Plus when it comes to prevention of Dementia there is another study, done with over 7000 elderly women in France, which found that drinking silica in water led to a statistically significant decrease in the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia.

3. Eliminates Parasites

DE is also very effective at removing parasites (pinworms, tapeworms, etc), plus residue from organophosphate pesticides and drugs. What makes DE such an effective treatment for parasites is that it cuts through their exoskeleton, absorbs their body fluids (silica can absorb 1.1 times of its own weight in fluids). This dries out any parasite or pathogen which leads them to die. Hence, it is a mechanical cleansing action that works all naturally, and has no side effects for the body.

4. Improves Joints, Bones and Ligaments, and Arteries

A 2007 study published in the Journal of Nutrition Health and Aging stated that dietary silica is beneficial to bone and connective tissue and helps prevent low bone mass (osteoporosis), which is considered “a silent epidemic of the 21st century.” So the silica within Diatomaceous Earth helps with normal bone metabolism and joint formation.

When it comes to joint health, studies found that silica boosts the collagen in the joints which leads to greater strength of joints. This means you’ll experience less pain and you can move more easily and efficiently.

It is important to note one more advantage of silica in connection with other minerals. Studies confirm that silica helps with better absorption of minerals, like calcium and magnesium. This makes Diatomaceous Earth a great addition for a person fighting osteoporosis, or someone who is looking for a natural way to strengthen bones and protecting them from fractures. Silica also boosts our immune system thanks to its ability to alkalize the body. When the environment in our body becomes acidic, usually due to poor diet choices, we get sick. Diatomaceous Earth successfully assists in maintaining healthy pH levels.

Diatomaceous Earth boosts Collagen, is anti-aging, improves bone mineralization, gives you stronger & shinier hair and skin…..and that is not even all!

5. Anti-Aging & boosting Collagen

Silica is needed to maintain the health of bodily tissues and to create collagen. And why is Collagen so important? Because we need plenty of it. In the past, the diet of the average human provided enough silica for the body to maintain itself. However, due to new farming methods and a change in the average human diet (eating more processed foods), most humans do not consume nearly enough silica.

Collagen is used for strong bones, to form connective tissue in the body, to firm skin, to line the digestive tract, plus to help build joints, ligaments, tendons, and also the tissues in arteries! Surely an impressive list.

Modern life now has adopted Collagen as an anti-aging strategy. Collagen is the thick material that lines the inside of the skin in our entire body and in our face. In other words, because Diatomaceous Earth helps to form collagen, people find they get healthier and younger-looking skin over a period of a few weeks. Plus there are many testimonials that say Silica can help repair damaged or loose skin, along with a clean, wholesome diet. The same goes for improving the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines – as long as you’re taking sufficient amounts of vitamin C and vitamin E, paired again with a clean, wholesome diet.

On another note regarding skin, Diatomaceous Earth has many topical applications too. Because of its natural abrasive qualities, DE is used in many skin exfoliators, polishes and skin scrubs. Similar to other beneficial clays, DE dries out harmful toxins, rids you of dead cells, and leaves behind clean, smoothed skin.

6. Beautiful hair, nails, and healthier teeth

If you want your nails, teeth, and hair to be healthy, turn to silica, in other words to Diatomaceous Earth. Silica is an essential beauty mineral that helps heal brittle nails, teeth, and hair. Although this will take a little time, the difference is visible and undeniable.

Almost all of the trace minerals that silica helps balance are factors in treating hair loss. Calcium, magnesium, and Vitamin D are all nutrients that need to be well-balanced if you want to have the thickest and healthiest hair possible. Thus, high amount of silica in Diatomaceous Earth helps deliver the vital nutrients that we ingest to all of our external parts, including the hair follicles.

One last point about brittle nails: together with hundreds of testimonials we can assure you that you will see an improvement in your finger nails within a few weeks of taking DE.

In conclusion:

After learning about these many benefits of ingesting food grade Diatomaceous Earth, why not give it a try. It seems you can only win with the promise that you will look younger, healthier, and feel so much stronger.
